β
and at the risk of shocking some of you, it's even the most important.
β
Yes, more important than your ability to Coach...
β
But before you flame me, let me explain why.
β
Today, you can be the best personal trainer in the world, but if nobody knows you, you won't make a living from your activity.
β
On the other hand, you can be the WORST personal trainer in the world... and still make a very good living if you're good at marketing.
β
It's unfair, it's whatever you want it to be, but it's true.
β
You have to be independent and autonomous in your marketing.
β
You have to let people know who you are, what you do and how you can help them.
β
To do that, you have to be good at marketing.
β
But what does it mean to be good at marketing?
β
What is marketing?
β
To put it very simply: marketing is all about being seen.
β
It's how well you can capture people's attention and redirect it to your services.
β
People try to make it complicated for you, but it's "ONLY" that.
β
To give you the basics, I'm going to share with you the 4Ps method.
β
For me, it's one of the best methods for understanding marketing effectively and getting started quickly.
β
The 4P method is composed of... 4p.
β
Obvious.
β
First, there's the P for product.
The P for Price.
The P for Place
and finally the P for Promotion.
β
If you apply these 4Ps correctly in your daily work as a personal trainer, you'll be better than 99.99% of other personal trainers.
β
Let's start with the first P, the P of product.
β
β
The product is simple: it's what you sell.
β
As a personal trainer, this means the services you offer your clients, as well as products such as programs, e-books and recipe books.
β
The goal here is to set up these products and understand what you're really selling before moving on to the next stage.
β
As a personal trainer, you're not just selling a program made up of workouts or exercises... what you're really selling is an experience.
β
It's an experience, and it's also the promise, for your customers, of better health... with all that implies: self-confidence, a longer life and so on...
β
If you really want to know what you're selling as a personal trainer, at the end of this video we'll share with you a must-watch video to make you aware of it, so stay tuned until the end.
β
The second of the 4Ps is PRICE.
β
β
Price is simply the amount you decide to charge your clients.
Now you might be thinking,
β
βWhat does that have to do with marketing?β
β
Actually? A lot more than you think.
Think about it:
β
Does Louis Vuitton advertise its premium bags on TV?
Does Lamborghini run TV commercials?
Does Rolex?
β
No.
β
And the reason is simple: at that price point, it makes zero sense...their audience isnβt watching TV ads.
β
Price positions your brand.
β
And thatβs something most fitness coaches still find difficult to embrace. But itβs essential.
β
If you want to work with the average person, youβll probably need to charge less... because that audience doesnβt have a huge budget.
β
And that means your marketing needs to match them too: simple, accessible, relatable.
β
On the flip side, if you want to work with higher-end clients, people who have money to invest in their health, your pricing needs to reflect that.
β
And your marketing needs to speak to them: premium, intentional, elevated.
β
Choosing your price is not just about money.
β
Itβs about who you want to work with, and how you present your offer to the world.
β
Then, the 3rd P is the P of placement.
β
β
It's pretty simple: where do you want to deliver your service, and how?
β
How do you want to position your personal training service?
β
Do you want to coach in a gym? Would you prefer to do it in the customer's home?
β
Or do you want to offer online coaching only?
β
You'll need to choose a marketing strategy that matches your choice.
β
Finally, there's the promotional P.
β
β
Before I share it with you, if you learned anything from this article, you need to know that we can help you more than that.
β
Our goal is to help you deliver the best possible coaching experience to your clients while skyrocketing your coaching business.
β
So Feel free to try Gymkee. :)
β
The last P, then, is the P of promotion.
β
The P for promotion simply means choosing the channels you're going to use to reach your potential customers in the best possible way.
β
Depending on your service, price or placement, you'll need to get your message out in the right place.
β
To do this, you need to ask yourself the right questions to find out where your target audience is.
β
Is it on Instagram?
Is it on Facebook?
Maybe on LinkedIn?
β
What do they like to consume?
Video? Blog posts? Newsletters?
β
Based on this, you'll be able to decide which channel or channels to use to promote your site.
β
Whether organic or paid.
